I called yesterday and reported my HVAC issues to Bonnie in the office. She was very polite, helpful, courteous, and got us on the schedule. Today the technician, Ignacio, came just before noon. He called to let me know he was about 20 minutes out. He was very polite, prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable of what the issues could be. He took the time to help me understand how our system works, which put my mind at ease. Our AC drain is set to drain first into our plumbing under the bathroom sink; it has a secondary drain to the outside of the house as a failsafe. Ignacio took pictures for me so I could see how everything works. My bathroom sink had started gurgling when the heater kicks on. The outside drain was not draining, so I thought we may have needed the lines blown out. Ignacio said that the lines were not stopped up but had a little water trapped in an S trap in the attic at the inside unit. My AC was starting to make the house smell musty, so he poured dilute bleach water in the AC drain lines, which took away the musty smell. He also fixed a problem with the fan that blows air through a vent to the outside. It was stuck in the open position due to a broken wire. This was adding to the dusty and musty of my home, and I have been coughing for a while as well. I thought I just needed to clean. The last thing were concerns about the black powdery dots that settle on my counters and other areas when we kick the heater on after it has been off for a while. Ignacio explained that my vents were not moldy (which I was worried about) but instead the heater heating up burns off dust, etc. when it is used after a prolonged period of time. A normal thing. Ignacio checked our outside unit as well. I definitely recommend Wortham Heating and Air Conditioning for your home HVAC system. This is the second time we have used them. Earlier this spring our air conditioning quit cooling, and they were just as prompt and courteous for that call as well. We had a part that had went out. Capacitor, I think. I believe Jonathan came that time. He also was very knowledgeable, prompt, and had it fixed in a flash. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
